What will happen with ASA business conducted at the Annual Meeting?
- The ASA will still conduct an Opening Session, which will include: introductions of newly elected Active, Senior, and Honorary Fellows; the conferment of the Medallion for Scientific Achievement and of the Medallion for Advancement of Surgical Care; and eulogies of Past President.
- The ASA will still conduct a members-only Business Meeting, which will include: the conferment of the Flance-Karl Award; final reports of Foundation Fellowship recipients; election of new Fellows; and reports of the Secretary, Treasurer, and Nominating Committee. Council, and Committee meetings regularly scheduled at the in-person Annual Meeting will be conducted via videoconference.
- Further decisions will be made, and updates will be posted after those directly impacted by these decisions have been contacted first.
How can I support the ASA during this time?
Please ensure that your ASA dues are up to date, and consider making a donation to the ASA Foundation —equivalent to an Early Bird registration fee for an in-person meeting ($500 for Fellows) or in any amount. You may check your dues status and make a contribution by logging into the ASA Members Only Area.
