National Museum of Women in the Arts
Date: Friday, April 5, 2024, 10:00 AM-12:00 PM
Price: $30 per person; add this event during the Annual Meeting registration process

Details: Participants will take a short, five-minute walk to the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA), the first museum in the world solely dedicated to championing women through the arts, where they will enjoy a one-hour guided tour. With its collections, exhibitions, programs, and online content, the museum seeks to inspire dynamic exchanges about art and ideas. The NMWA advocates for better representation of women artists and serves as a vital center for thought leadership, community engagement, and social change. The museum addresses the gender imbalance in the presentation of art by bringing to light important women artists of the past while promoting great women artists working today. The NMWA reopened in October 2023 after a two-year, $70-million renovation as a "megaphone" for equity.

Note: The group will depart the Grand Hyatt for the NMWA promptly at 10:00 AM. After the one-hour tour, individuals may continue to explore the museum and other DC attractions on their own or walk back to the hotel.
